Founding Member, Africastalking
Solving problems for a prosperous Africa requires contextual presence and immersion, and Zachary Mwangi has been right in the heart of this. Once a budding techie in Nairobi using web technologies to help businesses grow a presence on the internet, he built up on his journey through solving deeper problems that faced software developers in the African landscape.
In 2010 he joined as a founding team member in Africastalking, where together with the core team helped to conceptualise and develop one of the easiest-to-integrate mobile communication technology platforms built for the African developer. The Africastalking platform has since expanded from Kenya into many African countries and recently attracted investment from
the IFC and Orange Digital Ventures amongst others.
Zachary remains devoted to ensuring that information security is a primary consideration during the development of the ICT infrastructure that powers African economies now and in the future. He holds several information security certifications including CISSP, CISM and CCSP. He is now a co-founder at ICT Life and continues to evangelise secure systems development. He enjoys family, nature and is passionate about sustainable farming practices.
