Alejandro Alvarez de la Campa is currently the Practice Manager for the Finance, Competitiveness and Innovation Global Practice of the World Bank/IFC in MENA and West Africa. Prior to that he was the Manager for Finance & Markets for the IFC/World Bank Group Global Practice in Sub-Saharan Africa. Before this position, he was the Global Lead for IFC’s Financial Infrastructure (credit reporting and secured transactions) work.

He has also held other positions in IFC, in the Access to Finance Advisory Services, in the Small and Medium Enterprise Department and in the Foreign Investment Advisory Service (FIAS), where he worked on access to finance for MSMEs and business environment issues in different regions. He has worked worldwide on policy issues related to access to financial services, access to finance for MSMEs, credit infrastructure, financial inclusion, business environment and private sector.

Alejandro has also worked in the past as an adjunct Professor of Law at American University in Washington D.C. Alejandro is based in Rabat, Morocco since May 2018.
