Abiola Oke is a media executive. He is the CEO and Publisher of Okayplayer, an 18 year old media company founded by Questlove of The Roots serving rich commentary on black culture and OkayAfrica, founded in 2011, the leading media company of its kind connecting a global audience to Africa.

As CEO, Abiola has shepherded the company’s rapid audience growth and business. The media brand now boasts offices in New York, Lagos, Johannesburg and London.

Abiola began his career in the financial services industry holding various senior-level positions at Morgan Stanley, Citigroup and Barclays.

As a passionate activist and humanitarian, Abiola serves on the board of MoCADA (Museum of Contemporary Diaspora Arts), FACE Africa, and ambassador of the Monrovia Football Academy. He mentors students for the Student Sponsor Partners.

He is a noted speaker on topics related to media, technology, music, culture and social justice. He has spoken at the Oxford Africa Conference, Haiti TECH Conference, World Bank IFC Sustainability Exchange, and UNICEF’s inaugural Global Innovations for Children and Youth Summit in Helsinki, Finland to name a few.
